About the Molecular Biology Core

The Molecular Biology Core Facilities was founded by Paul Morrison and Richard Kolodner in 1985 after acquiring the first automated DNA synthesizer. In subsequent years, the MBCF deployed the first generation of automated gel based DNA Sanger sequencers, capillary array DNA sequencers, peptide synthesizers, N-terminal protein sequencers, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers, and Next Generation DNA sequencers.
